— Linda Wolfe holds the world record for the Most Married Woman, after marrying 23 times and divorcing almost as many. Her last husband was Glynn Wolfe, who married her to become the world’s Most Married Man (29 times) and died a year later.

— Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nevada is the state with the highest rates of marriage (40.9 per 1,000 population in 2009) and divorce (6.7 per 1,000 population in 2009). So what state was Number Two? Hawaii took second for marriages (17.9 per 1,000) and Arkansas for divorce (5.7 per 1,000).

— The lowest marriage rate is in the District of Columbia (4.7 per 1,000 in 2009) and the lowest divorce rate is in Massachusetts (2.2 per 1,000).

— Ronald Reagan is the only United States president known to have been divorced.

— Thinking of marrying a dancer or choreographer? Think again—that profession has the highest rate of divorce, at 43.05 percent. Bartenders are second at 38.43 percent.

— About 15 to 18 percent of Americans will cheat on a spouse at some point in their lives.

— With 5.0 divorces per 1,000 people, Russia had the highest national divorce rate in the world as of 2010. The United States ranked fifth with 3.4 per 1,000.

— Women over the age of 50 are more likely to divorce than men in the same age category.

— The Philippines is the only country in the world that bans divorce.
