15 semi-hard states to get a divorce

From semi-easy to semi-hard here are fifteen states that run in the middle of the pack for difficulty in getting a divorce.

1. Mississippi:

Cost: 52 dollars.

Time for processing: 240 days.

Other: Mississipi allows a civil suit against your spouse’s interloper.

2. Kentucky:

Cost: 148 dollars.

Time for processing: 180 days.

Other: Spouses may live together for the two month separation period as long as they have no sexual intercourse.

3. Delaware:

Cost: 150 dollars.

Time for processing: 180 days.

Other: Six-month separation period is required, but sexual intercourse is allowed if it is “in an attempt to achieve reconciliation.”

4. Utah:

Cost: 310 dollars.

Time for processing: 180 days.

Other: Utah allows a civil suit between a spouse’s lover.

5. Michigan:

Cost: 150 dollars.

Time for processing: 240 days.

6. Virginia:

Cost: 84 dollars.

Time for processing: 180 days.

Other: Virginia allows “fault” divorce for sodomy.

7. Indiana:

Cost: 157 dollars.

Time for processing: 240 days.

Other: Indiana allows a fault divorce for two years of “insanity.”

8. Illinois:

Cost: 337 dollars.

Time for processing: 180 days.

Other: Fault divorce is granted if there is two-years of habitual drunkenness.

9. Florida:

Cost: 409 dollars.

Time for processing: 200 days.

10. Texas:

Cost: 325 dollars.

Time for processing: 240 days.

Other: At least one spouse must reside in Texas for six-months before filing for divorce.

11. West Virginia:

Cost: 135 dollars.

Time for processing: 360 days.

Other: Spouses married in West Virginia have no residency required, but spouses married somewhere else must reside in West Virginia for one year.

12. Louisiana: 

Cost: 324.5o dollars.

Time for processing: 180 days.

13. Oregon:

Cost: 260 dollars.

Time for processing: 270 days.

14. Pennsylvania:

Cost: 316.98 dollars.

Time for processing: 270 days.

15. Wisconsin:

Cost: 188 dollars.

Time for processing: 300 days.
